Bucket List

My baby boy Ty turned 9 a few weeks ago.  He was just born what seems like yesterday and then I blinked and he is 9!  On the night before his birthday he looked at me with his big blue eyes and said “You know Mom, just nine more years and I’ll be going off to college.”  My heart dropped into my stomach.  WOW!  He was right.  Not a few days later I saw a blog post called “Mother-Son Bucket List”.  It was a sign, someone telling me these next 9 years will go by just as fast as the first, so make the most out of it!

Here are a few of my favorite from the Mother-Son bucket list:

  • Wake him up in the middle of the night and go to an all-night diner for breakfast.

  • Teach him how to be a gentleman and how to treat a woman.

  • Take a spontaneous, weekend road trip.

  • Create a paper-mache volcano and blow it up.

  • Serve in a soup kitchen or shelter together.

  • Fly a kite.

  • Make your own pizza from scratch.

  • Do something your son has always wanted to do.

I can’t wait to get started!  We can add stuff to the list and start checking some things off.  I WILL make these next 9 years count!

PS- Do you have a daughter or are you a father?  There are also lists for Mother-Daughter, Father-Son and Father-Daughter.  Enjoy!
