Chili for Chilly Days

The air is crisp, football is being played and all I want is something that smells good in my crockpot!  If you are looking for a quick, yummy and seriously inexpensive chili recipe, this one is for you!

Momcent's Chili

1 can diced petite tomatoes 15 oz.

1 can diced tomatoes with chilies (aka Rotel) 10 oz.

2 cans chili ready beans 15.5 oz.

1 can kidney beans (drained) 15.25 oz.

1 envelope chili seasoning (or less if you like it less salty/spicy)

1 pound cooked hamburger, drained (I threw in about a half an onion in with hamburger while it was cooking)

Put everything in the crockpot on low for a few hours and enjoy!  Make a box of cornbread and you have dinner for your whole family for less than $7.00 total!  And major bonus: your house will smell like you were working in the kitchen all day.

Tips to save money:

When looking at meat, look for markdowns.  My go-to grocery store will put a "managers markdown" sticker on items that need to go quick and most of the time I can get 50% off the regular price.  I either use it right away or freeze asap.
Buy generic beans, tomatoes, even chili seasoning.  It all tastes the same and you can save major $$$.
