I openly admit it. Having three young kids can be a bit (or a lot) chaotic at times. Every once in a while, I will look at one of my kids and think to myself – when is the last time I had a real conversation with them? A real, sit down and talk about what’s going on in their mind conversation. And sadly sometimes it’s been way too long. I am trying to be more mindful of making these talks happen more frequently, so I’ll ask Jack to join me on the back porch to chat or have Ty join me on an evening walk. I also recently found this family activity chart that everyone in the family is super excited about. Each month each kid is assigned to go on a date with mom or a date with dad or choose a family activity. The kiddos are going nuts over this! We started using the chart in August. Ella and I went and got our nails painted, Ty and daddy went to the batting cages and Jack chose to have a family sleepover in the basement for his family activity. Jack planned our September “date” weeks in advance (Five Guys Burgers and Fries!) and even had me pick out a handsome shirt for him to wear on our night out. I love this so much you guys! It’s a simple way for each child to feel special, and with that comes a mom and dad that feel pretty special too!
