It seems like just yesterday my kids and I were singing, “SCHOOL’S OUT FOR THE SUMMER!” I feel like I blinked and summer is gone. My Facebook feed is already full of back to school pictures from friends and relatives around the country, very soon I will be sending my kiddos out the door to 5th grade, 2nd grade and preschool. I can hardly believe it!
With school beginning shortly, I’m prepping a little to make my kids’ school year get off to a great start. I used to love getting notes from my parents in my lunchbox. We do notes for our kids every once in a while, but this year I am going to add jokes occasionally too! It will be fun for me and will give them a good laugh (fingers crossed) every day. There are a ton of blogs and websites you can print them out from (just google “lunchbox jokes” or look on Pinterest) or you can write them out yourself. Here is a short list of some of my favorites to get you started:
What is a chalk board’s favorite drink? Hot chalk-olate
What did one banana say to the other banana? Keep your eyes peeled.
What is a snake’s favorite subject in school? Hisssssstory
Why didn’t the skeleton want to play football? Because his heart wasn’t in it!
If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring? Pilgrims
What is a pirate’s favorite subject? Arrrrt
Why did the cookie go to the hospital? He felt crummy.
What can you serve but never eat? A volleyball
Cheesy, I know, but such a fun and simple way to make your little one laugh and know you are thinking of them while they are away! Happy back to school Mom and Dads!
