November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month

November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month at SCRAPS and although many people may hesitate to adopt an older dog or cat, there are a lot of good reasons why you should. A senior pets personality is already developed and they wont grow larger so you know what you are getting. Adult pets are less active and destructive when it comes to chewing or being potty trained. Many pet parents are also concerned about the health issues related to an older animal such as arthritis or dental disease. Supplements, additives in pet foods, mobility products, and age-specific diets, are all helping pets live longer. More importantly, by encouraging your dog to keep active and making regular visits to your veterinarian, you can help keep your senior pet healthy and happy well into their golden years.
