I had one of those moments the day after Christmas when I literally said out loud (to myself), “Oh my gosh, I’m turning into my mother!”
I was reminiscing on our lovely Christmas day when I started thinking about Ella and how much fun she had opening her gifts and plenty of other people’s gifts too (she’s 2, remember?). Then I thought about the cute little Peppa Pig tea set (her favorite cartoon) I had bought for her. That’s when it dawned on me that she never opened it! In fact, I don’t even remember wrapping it. What I do remember is finding it and thinking she would love it. I bought it online and received it in early December. I promptly hid it so the kids wouldn’t find it.
My mom use to do the same thing, actually she still does. I would always think, “How does she not remember where she hid that gift?” Well, now I know! Between shopping, wrapping, baking and who knows what else I forgot where I hid the tea set. And no, I still have not found it. Hope Ella still likes Peppa Pig next Christmas, I may find it by then!
Guess the old saying is true: the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Good thing I like the tree I come from!
