Teach Your Children Well

We imagine that our parents’ professions, avocations and interests help to form our personalities and shape the ways we see the world. So we thought it might be fun to get some firsthand feedback from the child of a financial services expert like our CFO, Joe Murcar.

Meet Aren Murcar, age 24

Aren“I grew up coming to the Credit Union because my dad has been the CFO for 20 years and that influence has helped me become familiar with financial responsibility. The best advice I got from my dad was that building credit at a young age is important for a successful financial future. I got my first credit card when I was 21 with a $500 limit. This, paired with my car loan through the Credit Union, has helped me build a very positive credit score, which has already benefited me with renting an apartment just this year.”
