SecureLock real-time fraud security alerts for your debit/credit cards

We’re pleased to announce that real time fraud alerts are now available via text message to your mobile phone.  Whenever suspicious transactions are detected (i.e. activity outside the normal shopping pattern, spending range, etc.), we’ll first try to make contact with you via a text message alert on your mobile phone.  This will allow you to instantly verify or deny transactions on your accounts.  If the charge is legitimate, you’ll text back the word YES and you may need to swipe your card again.  If the charge is invalid, you’ll text back NO which will stop the unauthorized transaction in its tracks.  If we don’t hear from you via text message, then we’ll make an attempt to reach you by phone.

The text message or Short Message Service (SMS) message will include our name (Spokane Federal Credit Union) along with the last four digits of your card number and information about the suspicious transaction which triggered the fraud alert. Additionally, it will provide you with options to confirm the activity as valid or as unrecognized. This service is free to you.

Here are some examples:

FreeMsg: Spokane Federal Credit Union Fraud Dept 8003694887: Suspicious txn on acct 1111: $201.99 POTTERYBARN. If authorized reply YES, otherwise reply NO. To Opt Out reply STOP.

If you reply YES the case will be closed as “not fraud” and you will receive the following response:

FreeMsg: Spokane Federal Credit Union Fraud Dept: Thank you for confirming this activity. Your account is safe for continued use. To Opt Out reply STOP.

If you reply NO the Automated Call System will generate an outbound call to the cardholder during available calling hours. The cardholders will be asked to identify themselves and the call will then be transferred to a Fraud Alert Specialist. The cardholder will also receive the following response:

FreeMsg: Spokane Federal Credit Union Fraud Dept: Thank you. We will call you or you can call us anytime at 800-369-4887. To Opt Out reply STOP.
